LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Missouri man has been charged with robbery after he walked out of a downtown Louisville pharmacy carrying merchandise he didn't pay for and threatening to shoot anyone who tried to come after him.

Cedric M. Helm, 46, of Kansas City, was arrested December 11 after he was seen inside the Walgreen's at Brook and Broadway putting merchandise into pockets.

After being confronted by an employee Helm removed items from his pockets. However, he set off the security alarm when he tried to leave the store with a bluetooth speaker, valued at $21.00. When confronted by the store manager Helm told him to "back off I have a gun."

Helm was taken into custody in the next block by Louisville Metro police. Officers did not find a gun on him, but the speaker was returned to the store.

In addition to robbery, Helm was also charged with public intoxication. He remains at Louisville Metro Corrections on a $5,000 cash bond and is scheduled to be back in court December 23.
