2 arrested in Oct. Foodmart shooting, string of robberies


LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Two people were arrested Tuesday in the shooting and robbery at a grocery store in October.
Mack Matthews and Anthony Ball are charged with attempted murder and robbery in the Oct. 30 incident at the Foodmart on 7th Street Road.
David Bryant, a clerk at the store, was shot and left for dead. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition. His family said he has since been recovering from his injuries in the hospital.

On Dec. 2, police released photos of the man suspected in the shooting, as well as seven other armed robberies.
Matthews is facing a total of nine robbery charges and Ball is facing six, according to their arrest reports. The two men were caught after committing two robberies on Dec. 14 and 15.
Metro police said Matthews and Ball are also being investigated by New Albany and Jeffersonville police for robberies there.
Donte Harris is also charged with robbery in at least two of the related cases. He is not charged in the Foodmart shooting.
