Jefferson County Sheriff's Office vehicle involved in downtown crash

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Jefferson County Sheriff's Office vehicle was involved in an accident Sunday night.

The call came into MetroSafe just before 8:30 p.m. about a wreck at Muhammad Ali Blvd. and Brook St. downtown.

Deputies were transporting a prisoner when they were involved in an accident with another car at that intersection, according to Lt. Col. Carl Yates of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.

According to Yates the prisoner was complaining of neck injuries, but nothing serious. He will be taken to the hospital to be checked out.

No other injuries were reported.
