Convicted felon accused of pulling knife on postal workers

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Louisville man is facing a misdemeanor charge after pulling a knife on postal employees, according to his arrest report.

On Tuesday, police were dispatched to the post office branch at 875 South 7th Street after a reported robbery. Postal workers gave the officers a description of the suspect and told them he had a knife concealed in his boot.

Police found the suspect, 44-year-old Gerald Lamont Riles, heading east on Broadway at South 7th Street and took him into custody. Officers also found the knife in Riles' boot, they said.

Riles admitted having an altercation with postal workers, the report states.

Police said Riles is a convicted felon. He is charged with carrying a concealed weapon.
