Man hit, killed by vehicle in southwest Louisville identified

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A man who died after he was hit by a vehicle in southwest Louisville has been identified.
Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Jack Arnold said Brian O'Neal, 46, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident on Dixie Highway at the intersection of Ashby Lane at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Sgt. Phil Russell, a spokesman for the Louisville Metro Police Department, said O'Neal was trying to cross Dixie Highway, but he was wearing dark clothes and was not in a crosswalk at the time of the accident.
Investigators said the driver of the vehicle did stop. Russell said investigators do not expect to file charges against the driver.
Funeral arrangements for O'Neal are pending.
