PAOLI, IN (WAVE) - A world record attempt took place at Paoli Peaks on Friday morning.
The ski resort in Orange County tried for the world's largest ski and snowboard lesson. Paoli Peaks had an official count of 82 participants (77 skiers, five snowboarders).
The current record for largest single venue ski lesson is 594 and for largest single venue snowboard lesson is 500. While Paoli Peaks was not able to beat the current records for either title, it contributed to the total numbers for largest multi-venue ski and snowboard lesson. In order for that to happen, collectively all resorts must total higher than 594.
There are 160 locations nationwide participating in the record event with four titles up for grabs: largest single-venue ski lesson, the largest single venue snowboard lesson, the largest multi-venue ski lesson and the largest multi-venue snowboard lesson.
