NEW ALBANY, IN (WAVE) - A new company is claiming to be the cure for worried parents. TLC K9 Services trains bomb and drug dogs for hire.
Owner Michael Davis, opened the doors just a few months ago in September.
"TLC is an acronym for the last chance," Davis said.
The company lets parents hire Davis to come out with one of his 40 trained dogs, including German Shepherds and Belgian Malinois, and search for drugs.

"It's the last chance for a child to get clean before their parents take the next step," Davis said.
The idea is that it's better for parents and Davis's dogs to catch kids with drugs before they end up in jail.
"Their parents are giving them a chance because they love them, but if they mess up again, their parents will be the ones that send them to jail," he said.
His desire to protect kids comes from the loss of his own. Ten years ago, while serving in the U.S. Army, his pregnant finance was attacked by a drug addict. The unborn child died. Since then, he's turned man's best friend into a drug user's worst enemy.
The dogs train for 18 months to two years, but they don't use real drugs. They train with something called ScentLogix, which has the same smell and molecular mass as drugs. Davis said because of the sensitivity of the fake drugs, the dogs are able to pick up even the smallest quantities of real drugs.
Davis said his dogs are trained to find man-made drugs as well including spice and synthetics.
