Suspect in custody after man found dead, women injured in Dubois Co.

DUBOIS COUNTY, IN (WAVE) - A suspect is in custody after a man was found dead at a residence in the Ferdinand Township area early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to a report of an intruder at a residence in the area around 2:40 a.m., according to the Dubois County Sheriff Department.

When officers arrived, they found Jeffrey Perry, 37, of Ferdinand, dead at the residence of multiple stab wounds. Two injured female victims, one of whom was held hostage, were transported to Memorial Hospital.

Kyle N. Popplewell, 25, was taken into custody around 5:40 a.m., police said. He faces charges of burglary, battery with serious bodily injury, criminal confinement, 2 counts of rape and murder.
