FOP accepting donations for Shively officer hit by gunfire

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The officer shot while executing a warrant is recovering in the hospital in stable condition.

Shively police officer Wes Singleton, a six-year veteran, was with other officers Friday serving a narcotics warrant at a home off Eden Lane when gunfire erupted. Singleton, 31, was shot multiple times in the legs.


He is expected to be in the hospital several more days, the Fraternal Order of Police president said.

FOP is accepting donations for Officer Singleton. Donations can be made in the following manner:

FOP says all donations will be deposited into the Wes Singleton account at the LMPO Credit Union.

The suspect in the shooting, 53-year-old Kenneth Probus, is also in the hospital being treated for gunshot wounds. He is expected to face charges from Shively and LMPD, but they have not been filed yet.
