Suspect in store robbery arrested

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The man wanted in connection with the robbery of a store was arrested 24 hours after committing the crime.

In addition to robbery, Nicholas Anthony Johnston, 21, of Louisville, is charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Johnston is charged with the robbery of the Dollar General store at 7850 Dixie Highway on the afternoon of January 26. Police said Johnston indicated that he was armed with a weapon.

When he was arrested Johnston was found to have meth on him, along with a syringe.

Johnston remains at Louisville Metro Corrections on a $35,000 cash bond on the robbery charge. He was also being held on a $75,000 cash bond for probation violation in a separate 2015 case.
