LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Louisville Metro Police Department officer is facing charges of driving while intoxicated while he was across the state line.
Christopher Davis was pulled over January 30 in New Albany by Indiana State Police. A report by the trooper said he witnessed the vehicle Davis was driving swerve and that the license plate was expired.
Davis admitted to texting and driving, but after further investigation the trooper smelled alcohol on the breath of Davis.
Davis was given multiple field sobriety tests, all of which he failed. He also failed a preliminary breath test blowing a reading of .14 - nearly two times the legal limit.
Davis is due in court February 4. He has been placed on administrative leave.
