LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Two men were arrested in front of Cane Run Elementary School Thursday morning for suspected drug trafficking.

Louisville Metro police arrested Salinas Gallardo, 22, and Fabian Garcia, 38, after they were found in possession of about four kilograms of cocaine.

The two were found earlier that morning loitering in a store parking lot near the corner of Garrs Lane and Dixie Highway. Police said they saw behavior that was consistent with narcotics trafficking.

Police followed Gallardo and Garcia a short distance away from the parking lot to where the pair met with two other men. The other men noticed the police and sped away. Gallardo and Garcia were stopped minutes later by police in front of Cane Run Elementary School where police then found a large bag containing cocaine.

School was in session at the time the arrest took place. According to Jefferson County Public Schools, extra security was not initiated at the school.

Gallardo and Garcia were each charged with trafficking a controlled substance. Both are schedule to be arraigned in court Friday morning.
