UPDATE: Tuesday's shootings in Shawnee neighborhood connected

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Louisville Metro police believe two shootings that occurred in the Shawnee neighborhood on Tuesday are related, but investigators have not released specific details about the connection.
One man was killed and another wounded in the shootings. The men were found just feet from each other.
Around 3 p.m., Louisville Metro police were called to an alley off the 600 block of Madelon Court, just behind the Family Dollar. Officers found a man dead. The other victim was found a few feet away suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to University of Louisville Hospital and is expected to survive.

The shootings happened shortly before students were dropped off at a nearby bus stop. Those students has to walk close to the crime scene.
"This time of day we have a lot of people out. If anything we are just lucky no one else was hurt," Louisville Metro Police Department Alicia Smiley said. "Considering it happened outside when school is letting out and people are traveling home from work. At this point were just happy we don't have more tragedy."
Police said they are not looking for any suspects at this time.
