LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A partnership between Jefferson Community and Technical College and Western Kentucky University means more possibilities for future college students.

In the agreement, students can be admitted to both schools at the same time.

The partnership aims for JCTC students to use the resources of both schools and have an easier path to earning a bachelor's degree at WKU.

JCTC President Ty Handy said, "Well what's important for us is about 50 percent of our students intend to earn a bachelors (degree) so we need to give them options and choices and WKU is so great it's good they are part of the choices our students get to have."

The partnership will eliminate barriers for student transfers and expand Western's presence in Louisville.
