Clark County Sheriff's Office offering unique program for homeowners

JEFFERSONVILLE, IN (WAVE) - The Clark County Sheriff's Office is offering a piece of mind for residents who will be away from home for an extended period of time.

With family vacation season starting, the Clark County Sheriff's Office will now offer additional premises checks of residences and/or businesses while homeowners/business owners are away for awhile.

The program starts immediately, according to a press release.

Clark County residents can call 812-823-4471 ext. 3150 or email smaples@clarkcosheriff.com to request a courtesy check of a residence, or office building. When leaving information the Clark County Sheriff's Office asks that residents/business owners leave the following information: name, address, contact phone number, contact name and number of anyone that will have access to the residence, vehicle description of any vehicles that will be at the residence while residents are away, email address and date and time of departure and return.

If an email address is included with the information provided, the Clark County Sheriff's Office will provide email notifications of the dates and times the residence will be checked and as well as some tips for homeowners leaving their residence.
