Man wanted for attempted murder in Bardstown captured in Louisville

BARDSTOWN, KY (WAVE) – A man was who wanted for attempted murder following a shooting in Bardstown was taken into custody in Louisville on Wednesday.

Darnell Maurice McGee, 28, was booking into Louisville Metro Department of Corrections at shortly after 6 p.m.

An arrest warrant was issued for McGee on Tuesday in connection to a shooting that happened near N. Third Street and Daugherty Avenue around 3:30 p.m., according to the Bardstown Police Department.

Police said the victim was shot in the leg and was taken to University of Louisville Hospital for treatment. The victim's injuries did not appear to be life threatening.

In addition to attempted murder, McGee is charged with wanton endangerment, criminal mischief, possession of marijuana and giving an officer a false name or address.
