LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The identities of two people killed in a hit and run crash on Poplar Level Road on Tuesday have been released by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office.
Ellisa Lucus, 17, was pronounced dead at University of Louisville Hospital at 6:08 a.m. on Tuesday. Christian Smith, 18, died at the hospital at 10:43 a.m. Both victims suffered multiple blunt for injuries, a deputy coroner said.
Louisville Metro Police Department spokesman Dwight Mitchell said Lucus, Smith, and a third person were passengers in a gray Kia traveling south on Poplar Level Road about 5:30 Tuesday morning when the driver lost control and hit a fire hydrant near the intersection of Produce Road. The driver got out of the car and left the scene.

Police said the third passenger was taken to a hospital with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.
Police have not released the name of the third passenger or the driver, who police believe was speeding when the crash occurred.
