Store robbery suspects arrested in parking lot

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Two people charged with the armed robbery of a convenience store were caught at the scene by Louisville Metro Police.

Tarra N. Goodwin, 21, and Matthew Russell Trumbo, 21, both of Louisville, were arrested at 2:40 a.m. April 26.

The robbery happened at the Circle K located at 9110 Blue Lick Road. Police said Trumbo entered the store with a gun and demanded cash and merchandise.

Arrest reports say Trumbo was approached by police as he was fleeing from the store to the car where Goodwin was waiting. After his arrest Trumbo gave a taped statement to police saying Goodwin knew about the robbery plan.

Goodwin and Trumbo are each charged with one county of robbery. Trumbo is also charged with being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun. Both will be arraigned tomorrow morning in the courtroom at Louisville Metro Corrections.
