LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Students participated in an eye opening experience before they headed off to prom.

Students at North Bullitt High School participated in a pre-prom prevention event on Friday.

The students rotated among five stations which involved personal stories from people impacted by drunk drivers.

One of the stations featured Quinton Higgins, who survived the Carrollton Bus Crash that killed 27 people.

"This is the world's worst drunk driving crash in the history of the entire world and the sad thing is, this is why I do this. Not many people know about it, especially you young people, it's forgotten about. We're coming up on 28 years this May. I go around speaking all over this place, because here's the thing, this happened because someone made a bad choice."

Students also experienced a crash and mock funeral.

School officials said they hope the students never forget this day and that they will remember their decisions do not only affect them, but others as well.
