Student charged with felony assault after altercation at school

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Valley High School student has been charged with third-degree felony assault after an incident at the school on Monday.

According to his arrest report, Shermaine Pendleton, 18, was involved in a physical altercation with other students Monday morning. Police said he threw a chair, attempting to hit a student, but struck a school employee instead. The victim was hit in the upper leg.

Pendleton was arrested at the school at 9 a.m. on Monday.
