Police look for suspect after teen shot while riding bike

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Police are looking for a shooter, and a reason a teenager was shot while riding his dirt bike Friday afternoon.

The shooter fired from a passing car, as an 18-year-old and a relative were riding on Louis Coleman Jr. Dr. near Garland Ave. in the Chickasaw neighborhood.

A passerby helped them and they stopped at the Kroger on 28th and Broadway to tell officers what happened.

At least one bullet hit the front wall of a home.

The victim was shot in the leg and is recovering in the hospital.

The Louisville Metro Police Department's Homicide Unit has taken over the case.
