LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A portion of the Louisville Gardens roof flew off and damaged a SUV during Wednesday night's storm.

A police officer on scene was able to run the tags on the vehicle to identify the owner who was not by the vehicle at the time.

Other pieces of the rooftop and large limbs from nearby trees were scattered on Armory Place so police taped off the entire area to be safe.

MetroSafe decided not to remove debris or the damaged SUV until daylight when they can better determine the condition of the building.

No injuries were reported. Armory Place will remain shut down from Muhammad Ali to Liberty Street overnight.
