LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Parents got a chance to get involved in their child's education Thursday evening.
From learning the alphabet, to counting with fish and car-seat safety around 125 families participated in Family Learning Night at the DuValle Education Center.
The event was a partnership between Jefferson County Public Schools and the National Center for Families Learning to help prepare preschoolers and help their caretakers to get active about learning.

Tim Jones, one of the parents who attended the event, said, "Going into kindergarten is when you get that first step into writing and as you can see they've given them dry-erase boards to write and number pads, coloring shapes and stuff like that."
Parents could also sign-up for summer camps and the Louisville Free Public Library at the event.
