One dead after double shooting in Shelby Park neighborhood

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A woman is dead and a man has life-threatening injuries following a double shooting in the Shelby Park neighborhood Friday evening.

The shooting was reported in the 1100 block of S. Shelby Street at 6:20 p.m. Police said the two shooting victims live in one of three units at that address. A woman from another one of the units found the pair and called police, investigators said.

When emergency crews arrived at the scene, they found that two people had been shot inside a home. LMPD said the woman was already dead from at least one gunshot wound, and the man was rushed to University Hospital.

Police said they believe one of the two was the shooter, LMPD spokesman Dwight Mitchell said. The relationship between the two is unclear, but a neighbor told investigators they'd been living at that location for no more than two months
