LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Louisville Orchestra conductor and composer Teddy Abrams helped kick off the 21st annual Festival of Faiths on Wednesday evening.
Abrams shared the stage with a diverse group of musicians including Ricky Skaggs and Pakistani instrumentalist Salman Ahmad.
That diversity on stage is what organizers say the Festival of Faiths is all about.
Center for Interfaith Relations Managing Director Sarah Reed Harris said, "What we believe is that the diversity in our community makes us resilient, makes us strong, it makes us special. So we celebrate all the diversity in our community and especially our faith diversity."
The festival runs through May 21 at venues across Louisville.
