LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Louisville Metro Police were called to the 4000 block of River Park Drive on Sunday afternoon for a homicide investigation.

The bodies of two young men were found in an alley off of River Park Drive. Those bodies were discovered by Deminga Williams' nephew.

"My nephew went and got another adult, and that's who called the police," Williams said. "We took my nephew into the house because he was sick to his stomach."

What he saw, according to Williams, were two burnt bodies.

"They were placed together, from what my nephew was telling me, they were placed together - next to each other - sitting up, their heads leaning against each other, like it's a love story or something," Williams said.

Arson investigators were on scene but LMPD spokesman Dwight Mitchell wasn't able to confirm whether the victims were burned. He did say, though, that there was obvious evidence of foul play.

"I'm not going to get into the complexities of our case at this point," he said. "What we do know is that we have two deceased black males that died of some type of foul play."

Williams says initially her nephew thought he had come across two mannequins.

"He just didn't want to look at it no more, so he went and got someone and they said, 'Those weren't mannequins,' so they called the police," Williams said.

She also says she thinks the bodies were dumped in the neighborhood. There is plenty of speculation as people in the area try to figure out who the two young men were. However, one thing is certain.

"This is sad. This is like very sad and this needs to stop," Williams said.

Dispatchers say the incident was first reported at 12:10 p.m. Sunday in the 4000 block of River Park Drive.

Police have not released the names of the victims, or their exact ages, only saying that they were young.
