LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Just in time for the summer break Louisville's two largest education providers have announce a major expansion of a program that focuses on preparing students for Kindergarten.
Louisville Archbishop Joseph Kurtz, JCPS Superintendent Dr. Donna Hargens and Sam Corbett, executive director of the Jefferson County Public Education Foundation, announced the expansion of the program.
300 students participated in the Ready 4K camps in 2015. With the expansion, at least 1,200 students across Jefferson County will have the opportunity to participate.
This year's Ready 4K camps will be held at the following locations during the month of July.

- McFerran Preparatory Academy
- Dawson Orman Education Center
- George Unseld Early Childhood Learning Center
- Jaeger Education Center
- Academy @ Shawnee Early Childhood Center
Catholic School Sites
- St. Stephen Martyr School
- St. Nicholas Academy
- St. Rita School
- St. Bernard School

In addition to academic support, students at each of the camps will receive breakfast and lunch. Transportation to and from the camps will also be provided.
JCPS has also launched a Ready 4K app, which complements its Ready 4K website. This free app features interactive games for pre-K children and tips for kindergarten readiness. The app is available on iTunes and Google Play.
