NEW ALBANY, IN (WAVE) - A Georgetown, Ind. woman is facing several charges in connection to an automobile accident that resulted in a New Albany man's death in March.

Klara V. Holst, 20, has been charged with causing death while operating a motor vehicle under the influence of marijuana, a Level 5 felony.

On March 14 Holst was driving on Interstate-64 westbound when her vehicle drifted off the road and crashed into David L. Smith's parked vehicle, according to a press release from the Floyd County Prosecutor's Office. Smith, who was assisting a stranded motorist, was killed in the crash.

On Thursday, Holst was arrested and the initial hearing was held in Floyd County Superior Court 3.

Holst has bonded out of jail.
