Five years later, still no answers in IU student's disappearance

BLOOMINGTON, IN (WAVE) - Friday marks five years since Indiana University student Lauren Spierer vanished, and there are still no answers in her disappearance.
The 20-year-old was last seen in Bloomington after a night of partying with friends on June 3, 2011.
The Bloomington Police Department says this case is not cold and it continues to receive hundreds of tips every year.
So far, however, no criminal charges have ever been filed in this case.

On Facebook, Lauren's mother, Charlene, wrote a lengthy post on the anniversary of her daughter's disappearance.
"Many leads have been submitted to law enforcement, our private investigators, various media outlets, and agencies who prefer to remain unnamed," a portion of the post reads. "There are various theories about what happened to Lauren and who was ultimately responsible, but the puzzle remains missing a vital piece. Until completed, Lauren's disappearance will remain a mystery. Why?"
