LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A body was found inside a vehicle behind a gas station Tuesday morning.
MetroSafe confirmed the body was found behind the BP station at 1863 Berry Boulevard.
It's not clear who reported the discovery at about 8:30 a.m., but a woman told WAVE 3 News that she saw the body and described him as having cuts on his shoulders, as well as some facial injuries. Another witness said the person may have been homeless.
A homicide detective said it's unclear how long the body was in the car, adding that heat complicates body decomposition.
Detectives are in the first stages of investigating, so an identity and a cause of death aren't yet known.
