LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The man suspected of shooting a Louisville Metro Police Department officer is now in police custody.
Jacquan Crowley, 22, was taken into custody by US Marshals at his sisters home in Port Orange, Florida around 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, according to law enforcement sources.
Crowley is accused of shooting LMPD Division 1 Officer Kyle Carroll near 23rd and Magazine Streets, in the Russell neighborhood, on June 11.
Carroll is continuing to recover. LMPD officials said the bullet resistant vest Carroll was wearing likely saved his life.
A $2,500 reward was offered in Louisville for information leading to Crowley's arrest.
Crowley was booked into Volusia County Branch Jail in Florida. He will be held without bond pending his extradition back to Kentucky.
