LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Fairdale man is accused of threatening his neighbor and two children over fireworks.

Anderson told police his neighbor, John Schmitz, came outside and pointed a gun at him and the children. He said Schmitz told him he had killed before and would kill again if Anderson set off another firework.

Officers questioned Schmitz, who admitted to making the threat, according to his arrest report. Schmitz, 74, said he was in Iraq and doesn't like the noise from fireworks.

Police retrieved Schmitz's gun and charged him with wanton endangerment.
