LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Hardin County man has been charged with robbery and giving police a false name.

An arrest warrant says the robbery David A. Allen, 51, of Vine Grove, is charged with committing happened on May 12 in the Fairdale area.

Information contained in the warrant says the victim was in the drive-thru lane at White Castle, 5520 National Turnpike. While waiting for his order a woman took lawn equipment from the back of the victim's truck and put it in the bed of a silver Ford pickup.

As the victim ran toward the vehicle and tried to get his property off the truck the warrant says Allen put the truck in reverse and nearly struck the man. The victim was able to hold on to the truck, but was thrown to across the parking lot as Allen fled.

On May 24, Allen's vehicle was stopped by police as part of an ongoing investigation. The warrant says Allen gave officers a fake name, false social security number and date of birth.

Allen was served with the warrants Monday at the Meade County Detention Center where is being held on other charges.
