LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A man charged with the attempted murder of a Louisville Metro police officer has appeared before a judge on that and other charges.
Jacquan Crowley, 22, of Louisville, was arrested at the home of a relative near Daytona Beach, Florida by U.S. Marshals and extradited to Kentucky.
On the night of June 11, Crowley is accused of shooting Officer Kyle Carroll near the intersection of 23rd and Magazine in the Russell neighborhood.
Crowley is also charged with promoting contraband, tampering with physical evidence, trafficking of marijuana, hitchhiking, possession of marijuana, fleeing and evading police, and disorderly conduct.
The court entered a not guilty plea for Crowley and set bond at $500,000 cash. A preliminary hearing date was set for July 8 and a public defender has been appointed to represent Crowley.
