SHEPHERDSVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A woman wanted for running over and dragging a Shepherdsville police officer was arrested early Tuesday morning.

Kentucky State Police troopers arrested Taira Litsey, 31, off of Bellevue Avenue in Louisville on four outstanding warrants, including a warrant related to the July 3 assault of the officer. In addition, Litsey was charged with receiving stolen property after she admitted driving a Buick that was stolen in Shepherdsville on July 4.

Around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, KSP troopers and a slew of other officers made their presence known at Emilio Vega's apartment on Woodlawn Avenue.

"Really, they scare me because I don't know nothing about it and still I don't know what's going on," Vega said.

Troopers were there to pick up Litsey and her passenger, 28-year-old Logan Lamb. Vega said he had no idea Litsey was a wanted woman when she called and asked him if she could come over and borrow money, so he told her she could.

"She never told me nothing about it," Vega said. "I mean nothing."

On July 3, Litsey and Lamb were caught on an officer's body camera as he attempted to arrest Litsey on an outstanding warrant. Instead, the pair left the scene, police said, running over the officer's leg in the process. After ditching Litsey's car, they took off in a stolen Buick, Shepherdsville police said.

"You can run for a while, but eventually you are going to be brought to justice and we're never going to quick looking for you," KSP Trooper Jeff Gregory said.

Gregory said troopers Ken Borders and Brad Holloman didn't hesitate to help Shepherdsville find who they were looking for.

"They were pinging some cell phones and some different things that put them close, and they were able to narrow it down and figure out where (Litsey and Lamb) were," Gregory said.

Once the troopers were right outside the apartment, they noticed the parked stolen Buick.

"They had some vested interest and wanted to help out and went up there and got the job done," Gregory said. "They did a great job."

Litsey was arrested on four outstanding warrants. She is also charged with assault on a police officer and fleeing and evading.

Lamb is charged resisting arrest, assault, hindering prosecution and menacing.

Litsey's criminal history dates back to 2004. She's been previously charged with burglary and alcohol intoxication, as well as a few drug offenses, including distribution of meth.

Also, this isn't the first time she's been charged with fleeing or evading, and a domestic violence assault charge is currently pending.
