JEFFERSONTOWN, KY (WAVE) - Two people escaped serious injury when their car collided with a UPS semi and became wedged underneath it early Thursday morning.
Louisville Metro Police Department spokesman Dwight Mitchell said a preliminary investigation revealed that the eastbound UPS truck was crossing Hurstbourne Parkway from the Interstate 64 East ramp when it collided with a white passenger vehicle. The car hit the right rear axle of the semi-trailer and became wedged underneath it.
Mitchell said the driver of the white car and a passenger were taken to University of Louisville Hospital with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the semi was not hurt.
The incident happened about 1:20 a.m. on Thursday.
The intersection remains closed at this hour while police continue their investigation and clear the scene.
