Pregnant woman stabbed in neck; suspect arrested

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A pregnant woman was stabbed five times during an argument that turned violent on Sunday, according to police.

An arrest report states Hannah Murphy, 27, stabbed the woman in the neck, elbow and back about 9:30 Sunday night. The victim told police that after she was stabbed in the neck, she put up her right arm to block the knife and got cut on the arm. She then turned to protect herself because she is pregnant and was stabbed in the back.

A witness said he and another bystander broke up the altercation.

Police said Murphy was located at Preston and and Jacob Streets holding a knife.

She is charged with first-degree assault.
