SHEPHERDSVILLE, KY (WAVE) - For the first time, we are seeing the terrifying moments when a Shepherdsville police officer was run over.
His body camera was still running at the time and captured what led to the July 3 ordeal at a gas station.
In the body camera video, you can see and hear the officer first try to talk to the driver of the vehicle, Taira Litsey, 31.
He had just run her license plate. He told Litsey her license was suspended; to which she replied she didn't.
Then the officer asked Litsey's passenger, Logan Lamb, 28, if he has any identification, but he replied he did not.
Litsey and Lamb then told the officer they were in the middle of moving and had no idea where their proof of insurance was.
When the officer realized Litsey was wanted on three separate warrants he came back to the vehicle to arrest her. She grabbed the keys as the officer reached for them and sped off, running over the officer's leg.
"Get her, get her, get her," the officer yelled as he ran back to his car.
The officer then chased after Litsey for a few minutes before he called for an ambulance.
Litsey was arrested on July 5 on four outstanding warrants. She was also charged with assault on a police officer and fleeing and evading.
Lamb was also taken into custody and charged with resisting arrest, assault, hindering prosecution and menacing.
