Suspect in River Park Drive shooting arrested


LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The man wanted in connection with a July 2 shooting is now in custody.
Bryon Montez King, 28, was arrested July 12 by Louisville Metro police. He is accused of shooting a man with whom he was arguing.
An arrest warrant says King approached the man as he was walking on River Park Drive, pulled out a gun during the argument and started firing at him.

The victim was struck once in the back and underwent surgery at University of Louisville Hospital.
Metro police said King fled after the shooting, but was identified by both the victim and a witness. According to police, King is the ex-boyfriend of the witness.
King is being held on $25,000 cash bond at Louisville Metro Corrections. He is charged with one count of assault, trafficking in a controlled substance, trafficking in marijuana and receiving stolen property (a firearm).
