CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A man wanted for allegedly shooting to death a woman in Campbellsville early Saturday morning has been arrested in Shelby County, Campbellsville police said.

The exact location of Rocky Ashby's arrest has not been released.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired at 3:59 a.m. on Saturday at an undisclosed location in Campbellsville, police said. The officers found Tara Simpson Lamer, 27, dead of gunshot wounds.

Police said their investigation determined the suspect is 36-year-old Ashby. He is thought to have stolen a red 1996 Chevrolet S10 single cab pickup truck with a short wheel base, tinted windows, a tint strip across the windshield, Corvette rally wheels, an airplane hood ornament, and the word "Chevrolet" across the tailgate. The truck's Kentucky license plate number is 409GNY. Although Ashby has been captured, the stolen vehicle has not yet been located.

Ashby was described as "armed and dangerous" while he was on the run. The public was asked to call 911 if he was spotted, but urged not to approach him.
