LANESVILLE, IN (WAVE) - It was a terrifying morning for a husband and wife as a masked man in body armor and carrying a gun forced his way inside their home.
It happened just after 6 a.m. along the 5400 block of Reinhardt Road. The call about the home invasion came in not long after the Floyd County Sheriff's Office got a call about a suspicious white Chevy truck sitting in the neighborhood.
Floyd County Sheriff Frank Loop said the man got away with multiple guns, money and jewelry.

"It's terrible," said Ronald Kelly, one of the victims, who still can't quite believe what happened inside the home he built nearly 20 years ago. "When he took us downstairs, I thought he was going to kill both of us."
Kelly's wife was pulling out the driveway to head to work when she said someone slammed their hands on her trunk.
"Pulled the gun on her and said we are going back in the house," Kelly said. "She pulled in the house and she woke me up and I said 'what's wrong' and she said 'I want you to calm down' and I said 'what's wrong'. I was about half asleep and she said you need to calm down."
Kelly said at that point a gun was already pointed to his head.
"He had a camouflage suit on, a bulletproof vest, a gun and two clips and he had a thing pulled over his face," said Kelly.
The masked man then directed the couple throughout the house, rummaging through everything. While in the bedroom Kelly said he was about to grab his own gun out of a night stand.
"He walked in and said I told you sit on the bed and he smacked me with that gun," Kelly said.
Kelly's forehead was cut. The man emptied the victims' safe, taking six guns, a large amount of cash and thousands of dollars worth of jewelry. Kelly said the suspect even took his wife's wedding ring off of her hand.
Loop believes the Kelly home was targeted.
"We do not have reason to believe that the suspect himself knew the homeowner, but the suspect definitely knew from somewhere that the homeowner lived there and those items were in the house," Loop said.
As the robber was leaving, he took all of the cell phones out of the home and slashed everyone's tires in the driveway. The suspect took off in a red Ford Fusion bearing Indiana license plate number WQI312.
