Man dies after overnight shooting
LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A 40-year-old man who was shot overnight died early Sunday morning.
Demetrius McLaurin died of multiple gunshot wounds in the Recovery Room at University Hospital at 6:39 a.m., according to Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Eddie Robinson.
Around 12:45 a.m. Sunday police responded to a shooting in the 2700 block of West Jefferson St., three blocks from where McLaurin lived, according to MetroSafe. The shooting occurred at approximately 12:49 a.m., according to the coroner. According to Louisville Metro Police Department spokesperson Alicia Smiley, "the victim ran to that area after being shot at another, still undetermined, location."
The location and number of McLaurin's wounds were not released due to the pending investigation by the LMPD's Homicide Unit.
No funeral arrangements have been made yet.

That shooting was one of three that occurred in Louisville early Sunday morning.
At around 12:45 a.m. police responded to a shooting in the 2500 block of Griffiths Avenue.
Then, about 30 minutes after the shooting on W. Jefferson Street, a gunshot victim showed up at University Hospital in a private vehicle. Officers believe that person was shot near 24th and Muhammad Ali Boulevard, just blocks away from the W. Jefferson Street shooting.
It's unknown if any of the shootings were related.
