Suspect shot, victim grazed by bullet during home invasion

Shooting investigated at Wisteria Landing Circle

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A home invasion in the Klondike neighborhood Thursday morning ended with the victim and a suspect shot.

Louisville Metro Police Department spokesman Dwight Mitchell said Sixth Division officers responded to the home invasion in the 4200 block of Wisteria Landing Circle about 7 a.m.

A preliminary investigation revealed five men forcibly entered an apartment, and an altercation ensued. The victim was grazed by a bullet. Mitchell said the victim and one of the suspects then struggled over the gun, and the gunman was shot. He fled the scene with the other four men.

He later was dropped off at Jewish Hospital East with non-life-threatening injuries.

The victim was taken to University of Louisville Hospital also with a non-life-threatening injury.

No one has been arrested.

The LMPD Major Crimes Unit is continuing to investigate.
