LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A man was found dead behind a home near Churchill Downs on Friday morning, and homicide detectives said there were obvious signs of foul play.
The incident was reported about 9:05 a.m. after a neighbor discovered the man's body in the 3300 block of Taylor Boulevard. The neighbor said the man appeared to have been beaten. She tried to see if the man was still alive. He wasn't.
Homicide detectives scavenged the area for possible clues.

The victim's nephew, Jonathan Garland, said his uncle, Billy Michael Garland, had been homeless and was battling alcoholism. Garland said his uncle had struggled emotionally after his wife of many years died recently.
Police have not confirmed any information about a suspect or a possible motive.
