Fastrax parachute team lands on KY state capitol

FRANKFORT, KY (WAVE) - Governor Matt Bevin, Lieutenant Governor Jenean Hampton and Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes welcomed the Fastrax parachute team at the State Capitol on Tuesday.

Bevin, Hampton, and Grimes spoke at a ceremony honoring the 2016 Kentucky Veterans Hall of Fame inductees.

The Fastrax parachute team landed on the front lawn of the State Capitol carrying a 11,000 square foot American flag, an 8,000 square foot Purple Heart flag, and a Gold Star Mothers flag that was over 8,000 square feet.

Twenty-four veterans from a variety of military branches were inducted into the Kentucky Veterans Hall of Fame.

Lt. Gov. Hampton was inducted into the Kentucky Veterans Hall of Fame in 2015. Governor Matt Bevin is also a veteran.
