Grant to provide Naloxone in KY schools

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Jefferson County Public Schools may soon provide the anti-overdose drug Naloxone at its schools.

On Thursday, the Kentucky Department of Education announced every school district in the state is eligible for free supplies of the drug thanks to a grant from the Clinton Foundation and Adapt Pharma.

JCPS officials have not decided whether it will stock the drug, but said nurse practitioners will undergo training in case the district moves forward with the plan.
