Police: 4-year-old girl shot herself with stolen gun

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A 4-year-old who suffered a gunshot wound Thursday night in the Park Hill neighborhood accidentally shot herself with a stolen gun, according to Louisville Metro police.
LMPD spokeswoman Alicia Smiley said neither the child's mother nor the woman's boyfriend claims ownership of the weapon. Charges are pending against one or both of them while the investigation continues.

The incident happened about 8:45 p.m. Thursday inside a unit at Park Hill Housing Complex in the 1200 block of Brashear Drive. The nature of the girl's injuries has not been released, but Smiley said the victim's wounds are not life-threatening.
