LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A man was found dead in a vehicle in Shawnee Park on Tuesday morning.

A MetroSafe supervisor said a shooting was reported at 7:32 a.m. in the 600 block of South 44th Street near River Park Drive.

LMPD spokesman Dwight Mitchell said shortly before 9 a.m. that a black man was killed, but the victim's identity is not known.

"When officers arrived, they did locate a black male in a vehicle," he said. "He was pronounced dead at the scene."

Mitchell also said there are no suspects yet in the case, and urged anyone with information to call police.
