Recipients named for 2016 Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Awards

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The recipients of the 4th Annual Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Awards have been announced.
The awards celebrate people all over the world who are making positive changes in their own communities and beyond.

This year the following people will be honored with the Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Awards:
- Cindy Hensley McCain, philanthropist and businesswoman - Humanitarian Award for Lifetime Achievement
- Louis Gossett Jr., Academy Award-winning actor and humanitarian - Humanitarian Award for Education
- Sheryl Lee Ralph, Tony Award-winning actress, singer and activist - Humanitarian Award for Global Citizenship
- John Secada, Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter and humanitarian - Humanitarian of the Year
- John Rosenburg, attorney and founding director of the Appalachian Research and Defense Fund of KY - Kentucky Humanitarian Award
The award ceremony will take place at the Muhammad Ali Center on September 17. Muhammad's wife, Loni Ali, will speak at the event and present some of the awards.
