LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A man is charged with impersonating a cop after he pulled over and robbed the driver of a car.

Todd Mettling, 34, of Louisville, was arrested August 26 for robbery and impersonating a police officer.

An arrest report says just after 3:30 a.m. August 18, Mettling used flashing white lights to stop a car in the parking lot of Kroger, 6900 Bardstown Road. Mettling identified himself as a police officer to his victim and told him to pull behind the store.

The victim said Mettling then ordered the victim out of the car and searched it. In the process, the victim said Mettling took several items, including a credit card which police say Mettling tried to use in Mount Washington.
